Event Description:

The speaker and panelists will address these topics and provide answers to your questions on job search today in Q & A sessions. Mr. Bolles is a recognized expert on job search and career decision-making, the panelists (investment professionals and headhunters) will offer insights into the current investment job environment and analyze specific investment management positions, while the social event shall provide a good opportunity for sharing career development experiences and interacting with industry professionals.

Richard Bolles is the author of the best-selling career guide world-wide What Color Is Your Parachute?, which has sold over 10 million copies, appeared on the New York Times best-seller list for hundreds of weeks, and been translated into 20 languages. Dick has been featured in countless magazines including Fortune, Money and Business Week, and on TV and radio shows including CNN, ABC, CBS News and Friends of Oprah. Fortune Magazine calls Parachute "the gold standard of career guides" and Money Magazine holds Dick "responsible for the renaissance of the career counseling profession in the U.S." Dick graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physics, cum laude, from Harvard University; he also received three honorary doctorates.

Panelists:

Philippe Barret is an equity research analyst at Dodge & Cox, a value-oriented asset management firm with $150 billion in assets under management, covering imaging and office equipment companies, Asian banks and U.S. financial services firms. Previously, he worked as a private equity analyst at American Securities Capital Partners and as a mergers & acquisitions analyst at JP Morgan. Phil received a BA magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University and a MBA from Stanford University.

Pete Deragon is the Financial Services Practice Leader for North America for Stanton Chase, a global top ten retained executive search firm with 64 offices in 39 countries. Pete's focus is on the financial services industry, specifically wealth management, investment banking, trust and brokerage. Previously, Pete ran his own firm, Deragon Executive Search, and worked as an institutional salesperson at PaineWebber and at Wells Fargo's treasury and trading departments as well as Wells' mutual fund arm. Pete graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in Political Science.

Steve Piazzale, Ph.D., is a career coach in private practice and with Right Management Consultants. Steve assists his clients in improving their resumes, networking skills, interviewing skills, salary negotiations, leadership skills and career transitions. Steve is a featured speaker on career development issues and the host of his own career TV show You're Hired!. Steve graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Santa Clara University where he was a National Science Foundation Researcher and with a Ph.D. in Sociology from Stanford University.

Janine O'Neill is Lead Recruiter for Barclays Global Investors' active and index products. Janine drives the process of identifying, assessing, and attracting talented investment professionals to BGI. Previously, Janine spent seven years at Spencer Stuart, a leading retained executive search firm, where she focused on financial services clients, corporate finance roles, and C-level searches. Janine began her career in New York at a boutique IT placement agency servicing major financial clients. Janine holds an MBA from the Haas School at UC Berkeley and a BA in Psychology from Vassar College.
