Please join us for an afternoon with Paul Matthews, the founder of Matthews, one of the leading U.S. mutual fund firms focused on emerging markets. Paul will be interviewed by Arjun Divecha, Chairman of GMO, and Mac Furst, CFA. Their questions will center on the following two topics: * Matthews' investment philosophy. * How to get an investment management business off the ground in the early years, how to grow it, and how to survive the last 18 tumultuous months.
We will invite questions from the audience during the last 30 minutes of the event.
About Our Speakers:
Paul Matthews founded Matthews in 1991 which today, with over $11 billion in assets, is one of the leading U.S. mutual fund firms focused on emerging markets. He is a Director of Matthews and a Portfolio Manager and serves as a Trustee. In 2002, he was named Value Line Fund Manager of the Year. He has been actively investing in the Asian markets since 1982. Paul began his investment career as a Portfolio Manager at G.T. Capital Management and held various positions, including Managing Director, President and Director. Paul received an M.A. in History and Law from Cambridge University.
Arjun Divecha is Chairman of GMO and responsible for overseeing $14 billion in emerging markets assets. Previously, he spent 12 years at MSCI Barra directing emerging markets research and development, software development, marketing and client services. Arjun holds an MBA in Finance from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay. |
