Event Description:
Please join SASF for this discussion that will include both technical elements of distressed debt analysis and insights on the market for post-reorganization (i.e. "back-end") equities.

Mr. Moyer is the Director of Research for Imperial Capital, a boutique investment bank specializing in financially distressed situations and the author of Distressed Debt Analysis: Strategies for Speculative Investors. He is a widely recognized and frequently cited high yield analyst, focusing on distressed securities and the bankruptcy reorganization process. While the current pace of bankruptcies cannot approach the record setting 2000 - 2002 period, as illustrated by the recent filings of U.S. Air, Interstate Bakeries, Gaily & Lord, and Universal Access, to name a few, distressed investing is still a sector ripe with opportunity in 2004.

Mr. Moyer has deep experience in covering specialty financial companies, but over his career has covered many industries and most recently has become involved in the merchant power sector. Prior to joining Imperial Capital, Steve was with Banc of America Securities where he was a founding member of the Montgomery Securities high yield research group and subsequently joined the equity research group covering the specialty finance sector. Before that he held various high yield positions at Everen Securities (now Wachovia Securities) and Drexel Burnham Lambert. In addition to 20 years of industry experience, Mr. Moyer holds a JD from Stanford Law School and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Steve is a member of the California and Texas bars, holds a CFA Charter and has passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting Examination.
