Event Description: |
| Globalization is forcing states to find their place in today's world. Some are adapting while others are resisting this inevitable change. In his new book, The J Curve, author Ian Bremmer, an expert on the politics of international business, intends to provide a new way of understanding how decision-makers within these states define their interests, and the effects of the sometimes-surprising choices they make in a world of high stakes instability. The J Curve can help investors better manage the risks they face abroad by allowing them to see why some countries are in crisis and unstable while others are prosperous and politically solid.
Ian Bremmer is president of Eurasia Group, the world's largest political risk consultancy. He has written for The Financial Times, The Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times, and has authored or edited five books. He is a columnist for Slate, a contributing editor at The National Interest, and a political commentator on CNN, Fox News, and CNBC. He lives in New York City and teaches at Columbia University.
Books will be made available for purchase at the event! |
